Students studying abroad Spring 2013: You should participate in Housing Selection just as if you were on campus. Because you will not be able to attend on selection day you must fill out the Housing Proxy Form available in your Study Abroad Packet and return it to the Office of Global Education before the end of the Fall 2012 term. This information will be forwarded to the Office of Residence Life. Greek members should work with their chapter leaders to have their housing assigned for next year in their absence.
Students studying abroad Fall 2013: Because of housing demands, spaces cannot be reserved for Spring 2014 for students who will be abroad during Fall 2013. Students studying abroad during this time period are not permitted to take part in Housing Selection but will receive a Housing Preference Form in their Study Abroad Packets which must be submitted prior to the end of the Spring 2013 term. Students are responsible for informing their friends of their plans to study abroad. Groups with members registered to study abroad may have trouble with the Housing Selection process. Please note that students who register to study abroad may not be able to participate in Housing Selection if they change their minds and decide to stay on campus. Students who are undecided should consult with the Offices of Global Education and Residence Life as soon as possible. Students are able to consult with their peers whose semesters abroad oppose theirs in order to work out arrangements of interest to all parties. Students who are able to find others with whom to swap on-campus rooms are welcome to do so. Interested students should contact the Office of Residence Life in order to solidify plans in advance of Housing Selection.
