H.J. Manzari, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Spanish and Director of Latin American Studies

Degrees: Ph.D. Spanish and M.A. Italian, University of Virginia; M.A. in Spanish, The Pennsylvania State University; B.A. Hobart College

H.J. Manzari is an associate professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages. Sharing his ideas and knowledge of various languages with young people, he travels frequently to Italy, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Europe. He has directed programs in Granada, Spain; Venice, Torino, Florence and Rome, San Jose, Costa Rica, as well as Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic. He is the Executive Director of Voces del Caribe, the first online journal dedicated to cultural production in the Hispanic Caribbean. Manzari, along with other colleagues, founded the Biennial Bridges Across Cultures international conference held in Italy. Dr. Manzari serves also as an advisor for the Latinx Culture Association.
