Abraham Selected To Capital One Academic Team
WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson College senior guard Emily Abraham (Canfield, Ohio/Boardman) was named to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District Women’s Basketball Team on Thursday.
Abraham owns a 3.95 grade-point average as an accounting major and now moves on to the national Academic All-America ballot.
The 2013 Capital One Academic All-District basketball teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Abraham was a District IV selection which includes all NCAA Division III women’s players from Pennsylvania. Joining Abraham on the team from the Presidents’ Athletic Conference was Thiel’s Kelly Barzak.
On the court, Abraham is one of the top three-point threats in the PAC as she has drained 37 triples and is shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc (4th in PAC). Abraham is the Presidents’ third-leading scorer at 9.1 points per game. She has grabbed 58 rebounds, while dishing out 28 assists.
Abraham ranks fifth in school history with 106 career three-pointers and has made at least one triple in 20 consecutive games. During her 87-game career, Abraham has tallied 509 points, while grabbing 210 boards and handing out 89 assists.
