Amanda Halula Earns PAC Golfer Of The Week Award
WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Freshman Amanda Halula (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) was named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week on Monday.
Halula is the third consecutive President to win the award after sophomore Jennifer Suder (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) claimed the previous two.
Halula finished in 25th place at the 46-golfer Mercyhurst Invitational last weekend. She shot an opening-round 91 Saturday before carding the Presidents’ lowest round (89) on Sunday.
Halula has been among the Presidents’ top three scorers in all seven tournaments this year. She led the team with 184 strokes at the Pat Clouse Invitational on October 14-15.
Halula shot an 84 during the first round of the PAC Fall Championship, her lowest collegiate round this season, helping W&J take a 15-shot lead into the spring league tournament that begins Apr. 22 (11:00 am). The PAC the team champion is expected to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the first time in conference history this spring.
