Best Earns Second PAC Goalkeeper of the Week Award
WASHINGTON, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson junior Jon Best (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) picked up Presidents’ Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week laurels for the second time this season, the league announced on Monday.
In two games this past week, Best played all but five minutes in goal for the Presidents and did not surrender a goal. Best made four saves in those two matches, three of which came on the road at Franciscan. He has racked up two solo shutouts this season, including a 1-0 win against Muskingum on Saturday, but has a hand in all five W&J shutout victories.
For the season, Best boasts a goals against average of 1.27, ranking him fifth in the conference. His .800 save percentage ranks him second among league keepers.
Washington & Jefferson begins PAC action this Saturday (Oct. 5) at 3:30 pm by hosting Westminster at Alexandre Stadium.
