Cody Peddicord Named PAC Men’s Soccer Player of Week
WASHINGTON, Pa. - Washington & Jefferson College senior forward Cody Peddicord (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) was selected as the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week on Monday.
Peddicord had a hand in both W&J goals on Saturday as the Presidents opened league play with a 2-1 victory over Westminster. His goal, the 16th of his career, in the 19th minute tied the match and also tied him with teammate Brian Hanna (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) and 2004 graduate Tom Cameron for ninth place on the school’s all-time goal list.
With 8:24 remaining and the score still deadlocked, Peddicord set up junior James Calvert (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell) for the eventual game-winning goal.
Peddicord leads the Presidents (6-4, 1-0 PAC) with three goals and three assists. He is tied for fifth in the PAC in assists.
In 51 career matches, Peddicord has produced 16 goals and nine assists for 41 points. With three more points, he will move into eighth place on the W&J career scoring list. All three of his career game-winning goals came during his junior year.
Peddicord will have his first chance to move up the W&J scoring charts tonight against Saint Vincent (5:00 pm).
