Fradkin Scores 150th Career Goal; Presidents Lose In Florida
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Senior midfielder Brittany Fradkin (Owings Mills, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) scored four goals, including the 150th of her career, but Washington & Jefferson fell in its Spring Fling Women's Lacrosse Tournament opener Monday afternoon to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Calif.) by a 14-6 margin at Lake Lytal Park.
Fradkin now has 152 career goals in 49 matches. She is 38 goals away from passing former teammate Brittney Oake '12 for second place on the program's all-time goal list.
The Presidents (2-3) led 5-4 at halftime behind three Fradkin goals, but the Athenas dominated play in the final 30 minutes to up their overall record to 4-5.
Senior midfielder Kelsey Kraus (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) added one goal and two assists, while freshman midfielder Diana Harvey (Huntington, N.Y./Huntington) scored once. Senior goalie Julia McLellan (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) recorded 10 saves.
The Presidents aim to get back into the win column on Wednesday for the second of their three matches at the West Palm Beach tournament. W&J faces Clarkson at 11:00 am.
