Galligan and Ryan Claim PAC Honor
WASHINGTON, Pa. – For the third time this fall, sophomore Kristen Galligan (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson) and senior Scott Ryan (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville East) were named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Runners of the Week the league announced on Monday.
In addition, Galligan was selected as the ECAC Division III Runner of the Week on Tuesday.
Galligan won the third individual title of her career, as she established a new personal best time of 18:22.8 at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday. Her mark in the 199-runner race was the top 4K time in school history.
Galligan is a five-time PAC Runner of the Week and has claimed individual titles at the Waynesburg Invitational earlier this fall and at the Pitt-Greensburg Invitational during her freshman campaign.
Ryan also set new school and personal benchmarks with a time of 25:23.15. He finished fourth in the 8K, 218-runner men’s race.
Ryan has finished in the top four in all four races this fall and is a 12-time PAC Runner of the Week.
The W&J cross country squads travel to Ohio to compete at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday at 11:00 am.
