OBERLIN, Ohio – Washington & Jefferson College sophomore Kristen Galligan (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson) recorded another cross country championship on Saturday after winning the 6K title at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble.

Galligan finished first in the 270-runner field with a time of 21:09.30, just over three seconds ahead of Elizabethtown’s Traci Tempone.  Galligan’s first-place finish is the fourth of her career.  She has also captured back-to-back races after winning at Carnegie Mellon last week.

Senior Scott Ryan (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville East) also continued his standout season for the Presidents’ men after notching 13th place in a field of 275 runners.  Ryan’s 8K time of 24:24.60 was 53 seconds behind meet winner William Jones of Franciscan (23:31.00).

The W&J men garnered 25th place out of 32 squads.  Junior Bradley Hanne (Conneaut, Ohio/Centre) crossed the finish line in 221st place (28:03.20) and sophomore Corey Young (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) placed 227th (28:11.20).

As a team, the W&J women took 24th place out of 30 teams.  Freshman Keri Reeves (Calimesa, Calif./Yucaipa) was the Presidents’ nest best finisher in 187th place (24:59.90).

SUNY-Geneseo won the men’s team championship, while the host Yeowomen were victorious in the women’s team competition.
