Gante Named First Team All-PAC; Four More Presidents Earn Honors

WASHINGTON, Pa. - Washington & Jefferson College junior Jimmy Gante (York, Pa./Dallastown) earned All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer First Team accolades on Tuesday, while senior goalkeeper Pete Tomlinson (Seymour, Conn./Seymour), sophomore Cody Peddicord (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) and freshman Brian Hanna (Allison Park, Pa./Shaler Area) were all named to the All-PAC Second Team.

Senior defender Nick Bradnam (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield) was also honored, as an honorable-mention selection. 

Gante started all 17 games for the Presidents and was the team’s third-leading scorer.  He tallied three goals and one assist for seven points.  Gante scored a pair of game-winning goals, including one in double-overtime against Pitt-Greensburg.  He has appeared in 51 games during his first three seasons, netting eight goals and adding six assists.

Tomlinson started 14 games and was in net for all six W&J wins.  He played over 1,110 minutes and stopped 57 shots on goal.  During his career, Tomlinson played in 32 games, earning 10 wins.  He turned away 79 shots and had a 1.85 goals against average.

Peddicord finished the season with six goals and two assists for 14 points, all good for second-best on the team.  Peddicord has played in 26 games in his career and has recorded 28 shots on goal.

Hanna enjoyed a breakout rookie campaign, as he led the team in goals scored and total points.  Hanna appeared in all 17 games, starting 11, and netted seven goals.  He added a pair of assists for 16 points.  His goal and point totals were both the top marks in the PAC among freshmen and seventh overall.

Bradnam was the leader of a W&J defense that posted two shutouts.  He started 15 games and tallied three shots on goal.  Bradnam is a three-year letter winner, playing in 50 games, while scoring three goals.

W&J finished its season 6-11 overall and 3-5 in PAC play.
