Geneva Nips Presidents In Overtime 2-1

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - Geneva used a goal from Jeremy Troutman in the 103rd minute to down the Washington & Jefferson men’s soccer team in Beaver Falls on Saturday afternoon, 2-1.
Freshman Brian Hanna (Alison Park, Pa./Shaler Area) took a feed from classmate Conor McKenzie (Oceanport, N.J./Shore Regional) and found the back of the net to even the game at one apiece in the middle of the first half.
The game remained a defensive battle until Jeb Nash set up Troutman off a corner kick to give the Golden Tornadoes (7-3-1, 1-0) the lead.
Senior goalkeeper Pete Tomlinson (Seymour, Conn./Seymour) made eight saves for the Presidents (3-6, 0-1). W&J was outshot 10-5 by Geneva, which also held the corner kick advantage, 5-4.
W&J will return to Alexandre Stadium on Wednesday against Westminster at 7:00 pm.
