WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Geneva College earned its first-ever Presidents’ Athletic Conference volleyball victory after defeating Washington & Jefferson College 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-22) on Wednesday evening at the Henry Memorial Center.
The Golden Tornadoes (3-2, 1-0 PAC) were playing their first match that counted towards PAC standings after serving a four-year provisional membership in NCAA Division III following its move from NAIA Division II.
W&J was led by sophomore outside hitters Samantha Chorney (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) and Tori Clark (Fall Branch, Tenn./Sullivan South), who recorded six kills. Chorney also collected nine digs, while Clark posted six.
Sophomore setter Melody McNamara (Wheeling, W.Va./Wheeling Park) contributed 13 assists, five digs and one block.
