Geneva Outlasts W&J In Five Sets

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Geneva College rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Washington & Jefferson College 3-2 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference volleyball action at the Henry Memorial Center on Tuesday night. Set scores for the match were 18-25, 25-20, 25-15, 22-25, 12-15.

Sophomore Megan Stoehr (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) established a new career high by handing out 52 assists. She also collected 11 digs and three blocks on the defensive end.

Junior Tori Clark (Fall Branch, Tenn./Sullivan South) paced the offense with 20 kills, while classmate Samantha Chorney (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) added 11 and freshman Nicole Bishwaty (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) recorded 16.

Clark accumulated 11 digs for her second-straight double-double to go along with a pair of blocks, while freshman Courtney Grdina (Stow, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) posted a team-high 17 digs.

W&J (7-9, 1-8) faces Waynesburg (1:00 pm) and Saint Vincent (3:00 pm) in a PAC dual meet on Saturday in Latrobe.
