Grove City Rolls Past Presidents In New York
UTICA, N.Y. – Grove City, the top-ranked team in the CWPA Division III poll, scored seven times in the second quarter and earned a 14-4 victory over Washington & Jefferson on Saturday morning at the CWPA Central at East Invitational at Utica College.
The Wolverines (13-8) received four-goal games from Andrea Wilson and Abby Wells. Grove City led 3-1 after one quarter before opening a 10-2 halftime advantage. GCC put the match away with three unanswered goals during the third quarter.
Senior Sarah Cull (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) led W&J with two goals, while sophomore Margot Wummer (Havertown, Pa./Germantown Academy) and freshman Sara Boldt (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) both added one.
The Presidents (5-4), who are ranked second in the CWPA DIII poll, take on Utica (3:00 pm) and Penn State-Behrend (6:00 pm) later today in New York.
