Kinyon Selected As PAC Defensive Player of Week
WASHINGTON, Pa. - Washington & Jefferson College junior goalkeeper Morgan Kinyon (Stockton, Calif./Oakdale) was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player/Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday by the conference office.
Kinyon, who transferred to W&J this fall from Division II William Jessup (Calif.), made five saves to earn a shutout in W&J’s lone match of last week. The Presidents knocked off Penn State-Behrend 1-0 and Kinyon collected three of her five saves during the final 28 minutes.
Kinyon has played in seven matches this fall and owns a 1.30 goals-against average. She has posted a pair of shutouts (3rd in PAC) and racked up 32 saves in over 624 minutes of action. Kinyon owns the league’s fourth-best GAA and fifth-best save percentage (.780).
The Presidents (5-4), who have won five in a row, open conference play Saturday versus Westminster at Alexandre Stadium (1:00 pm).
