Kirkpatrick And Rivera Earn Basketball All-PAC Honors

WASHINGTON, Pa. - Washington & Jefferson College senior women’s basketball players Ashley Kirkpatrick (Sharon, Pa./Kennedy Catholic) and Vanessa Rivera (Reading, Pa./Wilson) have earned Second Team All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference honors.

Kirkpatrick averaged a team-leading 14.7 points (4th PAC) and 8.7 rebounds (2nd PAC) per game while appearing in all 26 contests for the Presidents (12-14, 7-11).  She produced eight double-doubles, good for second in the conference, and finished fifth in the league in blocked shots (36).

Kirkpatrick completed her four-year career with 741 points, 439 rebounds and 60 blocked shots in 85 games. 

Rivera earned second-team accolades for the second-straight season after leading the PAC in assists per game (5.5) and finishing second in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.92).  Her assist total was 15th in all of NCAA Division III, while she was 22nd in assist-to-turnover ratio.  Rivera dished out 395 assists during her career, which is fourth all-time in school history, in 108 career games (5th all-time at W&J).

She also led the team in free throw percentage (.764; 4th PAC) and steals (59; 4th PAC) and was the Presidents’ second-leading scorer at 9.0 points per game.  Rivera netted 688 points, while adding 287 rebounds and 193 steals during her career.

Brittany Sedlock of Saint Vincent was named PAC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season, while Waynesburg Head Coach Sam Jones earned PAC Coach of the Year honors.
