Lestini Named PAC Golfer of the Week
WASHINGTON, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College sophomore Evan Lestini (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) was been named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week on Tuesday.
Lestini edged two players by one stroke to win the Peter C. Rossin Memorial on Monday after posting back-to-back rounds of 74. He was one of nine players in the 49-man field to shoot two rounds in the 70s.
Lestini averaged 75.9 strokes in 10 fall rounds. The weekly award is the first of Lestini’s career and the second of the fall for the W&J men’s golf team. Earlier in the year, senior Colin Izzo (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) claimed the same honor after winning the Allegheny College Kuhn Memorial.
Washington & Jefferson is idle from competition until the start of the 2014 spring season when it competes in the McDaniel Invitational March 29-30.
