Magdic Gains All-Tournament Honors
WASHINGTON, Pa. – Washington & Jefferson College sophomore Mike Magdic (Franklin Park, Pa./North Allegheny) was selected to the First Team All-Tournament Team following his performance at the Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Eastern Championship last weekend.
Magdic led the Presidents’ offense with 10 goals in three matches, while helping the team to a fourth-place showing. He netted one goal against host MIT and added a trio of scores during W&J’s 14-9 victory over Penn State-Behrend to help the Presidents advance to the third-place match. Despite a match-high six goals from Magdic, the Presidents dropped that third-place match to Connecticut College 13-11 on Sunday.
Magdic leads W&J with 59 goals this fall while adding a team-leading 25 steals and 12 assists.
Ross Schofield of Johns Hopkins was named Tournament Most Valuable Player, while Blue Jays’ Head Coach Ted Bresnahan earned Coach of the Year honors.
W&J (8-13) concludes its season at the CWPA Southern Division Championship hosted by Bucknell University. The tournament begins November 2.
