Mangold Earns Two Victories For W&J Track & Field At Fred Wilt Memorial
ANDERSON, Ind. -- Sophomore Cheyenne Mangold (Boerne, Texas/Texas Military Institute) claimed victories in the women’s 200- (26.95) and 400-meter (59.63) races to highlight the Washington & Jefferson College track & field teams at the Anderson University Fred Wilt Memorial Invitational on Saturday.
The W&J women’s team finished in sixth in the 13-team field with 36 points, while the men claimed eighth with 25 points in the 15-team field.
Sophomore Meghan Poinsett (Salem, N.J./Salem) tied for second in the 60-meter hurdles (10.39), while freshman Kristen Galligan (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson) ran to third place in the 1-mile run (5:19.92).
On the men’s side, senior Taylor Hockman (Martinsville, W. Va./Hedesville) claimed victory in the long jump (22’ 11 3/4”).
Senior Greg French (Buffalo, N.Y./Williamsville East) finished second in the triple jump (43’ 4 1/2”), while junior Gavin Donathan (Hurricane, W. Va./Hurricane) was third in the shot put (45’ 6 1/2”).
The Presidents return to action on March 3rd at the ECAC Championships in New York City.
