Marcius and Reynolds Selected To Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

WASHINGTON, Pa. - Washington & Jefferson College senior women’s soccer players Chrissy Marcius (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) and Lauren Reynolds (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) earned Capital One/CoSIDA Division III Academic All-District Team honors on Thursday.

Marcius and Reynolds are members of the District 4 team, which is made up of all NCAA Division III women’s soccer programs in Pennsylvania.  The pair automatically advance to the national Academic All-American ballot along with all first team academic all-district members from the additional seven regions around the country.

Marcius, a child development education major with a 3.53 GPA, earned a place on the team for the second consecutive year.  On the field, Marcius finished second in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference and tied for sixth in the nation, while matching her own school record with 14 assists.  She was the league’s fourth-leading scorer with 34 points and added 10 goals. Marcius concluded her W&J soccer career second all-time in assists (32) and fourth in points (96) and goals (32).

Reynolds also owns a 3.53 GPA as an economics major. She scored her first career goal and finished second on the team with seven assists this fall. During her four-year career, Reynolds was an all-conference and all-region defender, who appeared in 79 games. She helped the Presidents’ defensive unit set a school-record low for goals allowed in a season during each of her first three years with the team.

Also representing the Presidents’ Athletic Conference on the District 4 Team were defenders Lydia Caissy and Jessica Heck of Grove City.

Marcius and Reynolds helped W&J compile a 10-8-1 overall record under sixth-year Head Coach Pete Curtis. The Presidents won 50 matches and two PAC titles during their four years on campus.
