Marcius And Shipley Named ECAC All-Stars

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson College junior Chrissy Marcius (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) and sophomore Holly Shipley (Scottdale, Pa./Southmoreland) were recently named to the ECAC Division III South Region All-Star Team.  Shipley earned first-team honors, while Marcius was a second-team selection.

Shipley became the first W&J soccer player to be named to the NSCAA All-American Team earlier this year.  She garnered third-team honors and was one of only three sophomores to be named All-America.  Shipley scored 12 goals and recorded eight assists for 32 points on her way to being named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2011.  She has scored 25 goals and added 19 assists for 69 points in just two seasons at W&J, ranking her fourth all-time in each category.

Shipley earned her second-straight ECAC All-Star selection.  Last year, she was the ECAC South Region Rookie of the Year.

Marcius set a school record and tied for eighth in NCAA Division III with 14 assists.  She added six goals and earned First Team All-PAC laurels for the second consecutive season.  Marcius ranks fifth all-time at W&J in points (65) and assists (18) and sixth with 23 goals.

The Presidents won their first regular-season conference title in school history after finishing unbeaten in league play (8-0-1) and completed the season at 14-4-1 overall.
