Meyers Earns PAC Swimmer Of The Week
Washington, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson College freshman swimmer Jake Meyers (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock North) was named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week on Monday.
Meyers was victorious in three events against Baldwin-Wallace on Saturday, helping the Presidents’ men’s team to a 138-100 victory. He swam to a first-place finish in both the 200 (1:51.28) and 500 (5:08.70) freestyle races. Meyers was also a member of the 200 freestyle relay team that finished on top with a time of 1:31.81.
Meyers earned a trio of second-place finishes in his first career collegiate meet against NCAA Division II West Virginia Wesleyan on November 5. He swam the first leg of the 400 freestyle relay that swam to a time of 3:34.18. He also earned second-place spots for the Presidents (1-1) in the 200 freestyle (1:50.33) and the 200 medley relay (1:48.06).
W&J returns to the pool when it travels to Westminster on Wednesday at 6:00 pm.
