Murphy Named PAC Offensive Player of the Week
WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson College junior women’s soccer player Dawn Murphy (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) earned Presidents’ Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday.
Murphy scored three goals in two games, both Presidents’ wins, last week. She tallied one goal against Chatham on Wednesday, before scoring twice, including the game-winner in the 73rd minute, at Grove City on Saturday.
Murphy is third on the team with a career-high seven goals this season and fourth with 15 points. She has started 13 games and has 19 shots on goal. Her two-goal game against Grove City was her second of the season after she netted a pair against Carnegie Mellon.
W&J (11-3, 5-0) faces Thiel on Tuesday at Alexandre Stadium at 7:00 pm.
