PAC Honors Harley Straub As Women’s Field Athlete Of Week
WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson College junior Harley Straub (Richfield, Pa./East Juniata) was selected as the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week Award after winning the shot put title Saturday at the Carnegie Mellon Quad at Gesling Stadium.
Straub posted a top throw of 38’4” to claim the event which featured 13 competitors.
She was also the runner-up in the hammer throw (110’ 11 1/2”) and fourth in the discus (108’1 1/4”).
Straub, who twice lettered for the W&J field hockey team, set the school indoor record for the weight throw during the winter at 38 feet, seven inches.
W&J will join seven other PAC schools at the Westminster Invitational on Saturday at Burry Stadium in New Wilmington, Pa.
