Potts’ Fifth-Place Finish Highlights Mercyhurst Laker Open
ERIE, Pa. - Senior Taylor Potts (Wellsburg, W.Va./John Marshall) earned a fifth-place finish in the 285-pound bracket for the Washington & Jefferson College wrestling team at the Mercyhurst Laker Open on Saturday.
Potts earned a 4-1 record at the tournament. He defeated Ron Oswald of Seton Hill to gain fifth-place recognition.
The only other President wrestler to win a match was sophomore Roja Stephenson (Boyds, Md./Clarksburg), who defeated Millersville’s Daniel Calzarette on his way to a 1-2 record.
W&J faces Presidents’ Athletic Conference rival Thiel in a dual meet on December 9.
