Presidents Advance To CWPA Eastern Final

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Senior Sarah Cull (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) and freshman Sara Boldt (Kentwood, Mich./East Kentwood) both scored four goals to lead second-seeded Washington & Jefferson to a 9-7 semifinal victory over third-seeded Wheaton on Friday afternoon at the 2012 CWPA Division III Eastern Championship at Grove City.

The Presidents (11-4) tied the school record for single-season victories and will now face either the tournament's No. 1 seed, Grove City, or fifth-seeded Connecticut College on Saturday at 3:30 pm in the championship match.  The Wolverines have already defeated the Presidents twice this season by scores of 10-7 and 14-4.  W&J took the only meeting with Connecticut College by an 11-9 margin.

W&J pulled away from Wheaton by scoring two of the three goals scored during both the third and fourth quarters after the match was tied 5-5 at halftime.

Sophomore Catherine Villa (Poway, Calif./Poway) also scored for the Presidents, while freshman Charlotte Lima (Brooklyn, N.Y./Choate Rosemary Hall) amassed 10 saves in goal.
