Presidents Compete At Vulcan Women’s Invitational
BELLE VERNON, Pa. – Four Washington & Jefferson College Presidents were in competition this weekend at the California Vulcan Women’s Golf Invitational at Cedarbrook Golf Club.
W&J was not a part of the team competition as sophomore Jennifer Suder (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) withdrew following an opening-round score of 100 on Saturday. She was tied for 18th place in the 26th player field.
Karina Palmberg of Point Park was the tournament medalist after carding a 23-over par score of 166 (84-82).
The Presidents’ top finisher was junior Katelyn Vannoy (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk), who placed 19th with 198 strokes (104-94). Freshman Amanda Halula (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) was 23rd with 205 shots (106-99) and senior Ellen Schmitt (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) took 25th (118-113—231).
W&J’s fall season comes to an end on October 13-14 when competing at Wittenberg’s Pat Clause Invitational.
