Presidents Downed By Thiel In Greenville
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College volleyball team was swept 3-0 by Thiel on Thursday night in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match. Set scores for the match were 11-25, 14-25, 21-25.
Freshman Courtney Grdina (Stow, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) led W&J (10-12, 4-11 PAC) with 10 digs, while sophomore Sarah Stedina (Darlington, Pa./Blackhawk) collected nine and junior Samantha Chorney (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) added eight.
Sophomore Lindsey Bennett (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) produced 10 kills to pace the offense, while freshman Nicole Bishwaty (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) recorded seven. Bishwaty also added seven digs and one block on the defensive end.
Freshman Christine Plavchak (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon) dished out 10 assists and added one service ace.
W&J returns to the Henry Memorial Center on Tuesday for a match with Saint Vincent beginning at 7:00 pm.
