Presidents Drop Final Road Match Of Season

WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- Waynesburg avenged a PAC loss earlier this fall by defeating the Washington & Jefferson College volleyball team 3-1 (21-25, 13-25, 25-12, 13-25) on Thursday night in Waynesburg.

Junior Samantha Chorney (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) collected 10 kills, while classmate Tori Clark (Fall Branch, Tenn./Sullivan South) and sophomore Lindsey Bennett (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) both added five.

Freshman Christine Plavchak (Belle Vernon, Pa./Belle Vernon) dished out 15 assists and sophomore Megan Stoehr (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) handed out 10.

Clark and sophomore Sarah Stedina (Darlington, Pa./Blackhawk) contributed 11 digs.  Freshman Nicole Bishwaty (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and sophomore Darby McMullen (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Killbourne) both recorded a team-high three blocks, while Bennett added two.

W&J (10-14, 4-13 PAC) closes out the 2012 season on Saturday with matches against PAC foe Bethany (noon) and non-conference opponent Wooster (4:00 pm) at the Henry Memorial Center.
