Presidents Drop Matches To Thomas More And Westminster
WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College volleyball team dropped a pair of three-set PAC matches to Thomas More and Westminster on Saturday at the Henry Memorial Center.
Set scores against Thomas More were 20-25, 7-25, 15-25, while scores from W&J’s match with Westminster were 17-25, 16-25, 11-25.
Junior Tori Clark (Fall Branch, Tenn./Sullivan South) paced the W&J offense with 16 kills during the two matches. Classmate Samantha Chorney (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) added 12 kills, while freshman Nicole Bishwaty (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) totaled nine.
Defensively, freshman Courtney Grdina (Stow, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) recorded a team-high 18 digs. Chorney contributed 14 digs and Bishwaty tallied seven. Junior Lindsey Bennett (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) led the team with five blocks.
The Presidents (6-7, 1-6) return to the Henry Memorial Center on Thursday when they face Thiel at 7:00 pm.
