Presidents Drop Water Polo Season Lidlifter 15-7 In Ohio

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Seven different Presidents scored goals; however, Notre Dame College earned a 15-7 men's water polo victory over Washington & Jefferson College on Sunday afternoon. 

The match marked the Presidents' 2012 season opener and the first for W&J Head Coach Jay O'Neil with the men's program.  O'Neil coached the women's team in the spring after taking over in January and led the Presidents to a school-record tying 11 wins. 

The W&J goal scorers were seniors Mike Johnson (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) and Joey Weiland (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny), sophomores Justin Brier (Timonium, Md./Calvert Hall), Mike Magdic (Franklin Park, Pa./North Allegheny), Carl Krause (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) and Connor Crowe (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion) and freshman Ben McGrath (Palos Verdes Peninsula, Calif./Loyola). 

The Presidents are back in action starting next weekend at the Navy Invitational.  W&J opens against Johns Hopkins Friday at 10:15 am.
