Presidents Fall Twice At Southern Championships
LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College men's water polo team dropped a pair of matches to Division I opponents on Saturday at the 2012 CWPA Southern Division Championships hosted by Bucknell University.
The Presidents (8-15) suffered a 15-10 loss to George Washington before falling to the host Bison 18-8.
Sophomore Carl Krause (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) led the way against Bucknell with three goals, while classmate Mike Magdic (Franklin Park, Pa./North Allegheny) added a pair. Sophomore Chris DeNunzio (Greenwich, Conn./Canterbury) turned back 11 shots in the goal.
Freshman Kevin Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) paced the offense with four goals against George Washington, while Magdic and senior Cameron Chaves (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) both contributed a pair. Junior Dan Francisco (Chicago, Ill./Fenwick) had 11 saves in the setback.
W&J wraps up its season Sunday morning with a match against an opponent to be determined following tonight's action.
