Presidents Post 2-1 Record At Bucknell
LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Sophomore Kevin Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) scored seven goals in three matches, including four in the final match of the day, to help W&J men's water polo win twice Saturday at the Bucknell Invitational.
The Presidents (2-5) opened with a 15-4 victory over Penn State-Behrend before losing to Division I Fordham 12-4. W&J regrouped and finished the day strong with a 17-13 triumph over Salem International.
Dunigan and classmate Ben McGrath (Palos Verdes Peninsula, Calif./Loyola) both had two-goal efforts versus the Lions. A total of 13 different Presidents scored during the blowout win.
Junior Carl Krause (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) fired in a pair of goals against Fordham, while Dunigan and freshman Emmet Pierson (Malibu, Calif./Malibu) both added one.
In addition to Dunigan's four tallies in the nightcap, Krause collected a hat trick. Pierson, McGrath and junior Mike Magdic (Franklin Park, Pa./North Allegheny) all supplied two-goal efforts.
Washington & Jefferson will be back in action next weekend in Erie starting Friday night at Mercyhurst (8:00 pm).
