Presidents Wrap Up Fall Women's Golf Season In Ohio
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's golf team wrapped up its fall season this weekend at the two-day Pat Clouse Invitational hosted by Wittenberg at Springfield Country Club. The Presidents carded 388 strokes on Saturday and 407 as a team Sunday to finish 15th in the 15-team field with a two-day score of 795.
The host Wittenberg Tigers won the team title with 636 strokes (316-320), while DePauw (649) and Ithaca (652) were second and third.
Wittenberg's Rachel Steiner earned medalist honors in the 91-player field after totaling 155 strokes (77-78).
W&J's top finisher was freshman Amanda Halula (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), who tied for 64th with 184 strokes (90-94). Sophomore Jennifer Suder (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) was five strokes behind Halula and tied for 73rd place with 189 (95-94), while junior Katelynn Vannoy (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) notched 210 strokes (102-108) to place 85th. Senior Ellen Schmitt (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) carded 212 shots (101-111) to finish 86th.
