Rish Fires Home Four Goals; NDC Holds Off W&J

ERIE, Pa. -- Notre Dame College opened a 5-1 lead after one period and never trailed in a 10-7 victory over Washington & Jefferson College on Sunday afternoon in the CWPA Division II-III Crossover at Penn State-Behrend.

W&J (7-9) got to within 7-4 in the third quarter after a goal by senior Andy Rish (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep), but NDC scored the next three goals to ice the win.  Rish led the Presidents, who were hampered by a 1-for-13 effort on extra-man chances, with a four-goal performance.

Freshman Carl Krause (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) netted a pair of goals, while junior Joey Weiland (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) scored once.

Sophomore Dan Francisco (Chicago, Ill./Fenwick) stopped six shots in goal, while splitting time with freshman Chris DeNunzio (Greenwich, Conn./Canterbury), who had five saves.

Washington & Jefferson wraps up its 2011 season on Nov. 4-6 at the Southern Division Championships.
