Sadie Marak Selected PAC Softball Hitter of the Week; Adds ECAC Honor Tuesday
WASHINGTON, Pa. -- After batting .588 last week, Washington & Jefferson College sophomore third baseman Sadie Marak (Butler, Pa./Butler) has been selected as the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Softball Hitter of the Week.
On Tuesday, Marak added another honor as being named the ECAC Division III South Hitter of the Week.
Marak recorded 10 base hits in 17 at-bats during a 4-2 week for the Presidents. She knocked in 12 runs during the week to up her team-leading RBI total to 27. Marak also scored six runs and produced four extra-base hits.
Marak recorded four multi-hit and multi-RBI games. She is currently batting .323 (31-of-96) on the season with two home runs and seven doubles.
She is tied for the PAC lead with Thiel’s Danielle Massengill with the 27 runs batted in. Marak is also tied for fifth in the league in walks drawn (15).
In 70 career games, Marak owns a .319 batting average (68-of-215) with five homers and 50 runs batted in.
W&J has three regular-season doubleheaders remaining starting Wednesday versus Thiel (3:30 pm) at Brooks Park.
