Saint Vincent Edges W&J in Overtime

LATROBE, Pa. - A goal by Anthony Balistreri gave Saint Vincent a 2-1 overtime victory over the Washington & Jefferson College men’s soccer team in Latrobe on Sunday afternoon.
Balistreri scored just over three minutes into overtime to help the Bearcats (2-9, 1-2) end their three-game losing streak. The Presidents fell to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference play, with both losses coming in overtime.
After W&J fell behind in the first half, senior Ryan Suess (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) tied the game at one in the 59th minute with his second goal of the season.
W&J lost despite holding an 11-3 shots on goal advantage, including a 6-0 edge in the second half.
The Presidents will step out of PAC play on Wednesday when they travel to Frostburg State for a non-conference game beginning at 7:00 pm.
