Seven Presidents Honored To Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll
WASHINGTON, Pa. – Seven Washington & Jefferson College men’s lacrosse players recently earned spots on the 2013 Landmark Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll. W&J is an affiliate member of the Landmark Conference for men's lacrosse.
Seniors Tom Kozlowski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler), Tom Starr (Baltimore, Md./Friends Academy) and Tucker Mizhir (Winchendon, Mass./St. Mark’s) led the Presidents’ honorees. Juniors Quinn Marker (Dayton, Ohio/Archbishop Alter), David Behringer (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and Casey Smallwood (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) and sophomore Chase Bennett (Prospect, Ky./Kentucky Country Day) also landed spots on the academic honor roll.
The Honor Roll recognizes all spring student-athletes who have reached sophomore standing or higher with a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.
Starr was the team’s fourth-leading scorer with 14 goals and seven assists, while Kozlowski finished with a team-high 64 faceoff wins. Mizhir battled injuries during his senior season, but still ranked in the top five in school history with 53 career games played.
Marker, Behringer and Bennett formed the Presidents’ defense. Bennett was second on the team with 45 ground balls, while Behringer was third at 43. The trio combined to cause 53 turnovers.
Smallwood totaled 15 goals, including a pair of game winners, and added four assists for 19 points.
