Taylor Hockman Takes Second In Long Jump At ECAC Indoors To Lead W&J
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Senior Taylor Hockman (Martinsburg, W.Va./Hedgesville) took second place out of 31 competitors in the long jump to lead Washington & Jefferson College this weekend at the 2012 ECAC Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted at The Armory.
Hockman posted a NCAA Division III provisional-qualifying mark of 23’ 4 ½” to take second in the competition behind Chris Perry of UMASS-Dartmouth (23’ 11 ½”).
The W&J women’s team was led by freshman Kristen Galligan (Frederick, Md./Governor Thomas Johnson), who placed 10th of 28 runners in the 5,000 meters (18:06.40) and 13th of 22 athletes in the 3,000 meters (10:33.96).
Sophomore Cheyenne Mangold (Boerne, Texas/Texas Military Institute) was 14th in the 400 meters (59.71), while classmate Meghan Poinsett (Salem, N.J./Salem) claimed 21st in the 500 meters (1:21.53).
