Three Presidents Score In 3-1 Victory Over Thiel

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson fired 33 shot attempts on Thiel goalie Ethan Bayne and defeated the Tomcats 3-1 in PAC men's soccer action Tuesday evening at Alexandre Stadium.

Sophomore Cody Peddicord (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) rebounded freshman Connor McKenzie's (Oceanport, N.J./ Shore Regional) shot four minutes into the game to give the Presidents (5-9, 2-3) a 1-0 lead.

Thiel (5-10-1, 0-5) tied the match into the 26th minute on a Jeff Swanson goal, but Peddicord fed freshman Brian Hanna (Allison Park, Pa./Shaler Area) in the 51st minute to put the Presidents in front for good.  Sophomore Mark Reuter (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/University School) added an insurance goal in the 77th minute off a feed from senior Adam Ivusich (Joppa, Md./Joppatowne).

Bayne finished with 17 saves, while senior Pete Tomlinson (Seymour, Conn./Seymour) had four stops for the Presidents.

W&J hosts Waynesburg in the annual Senior Day game Saturday at 2:00 pm.
