WHITTIER, Calif. -- Washington & Jefferson was defeated by a pair of nationally-ranked opponents on Sunday in California as sixth-ranked Whittier (12-3) and seventh-ranked Chapman (8-4) both handed the Presidents losses.

W&J (0-13) had four different players score against Chapman: juniors Margot Wummer (Havertown, Pa./Germantown Academy), Catherine Villa (Poway, Calif./Poway) and Kelsey Leis (Flourtown, Pa./Springfield Township) and sophomore Sara Boldt (Grand Haven, Mich./East Kentwood).

Sophomore Charlotte Lima (Brooklyn, N.Y./Choate Rosemary Hall) turned back 10 shots in the goal.

W&J hopes to get into the win column for the first time in 2013 on Tuesday at Redlands (7:30 pm EDT).
