Uchenna Okocha Named PAC Player Of The Week

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson College senior guard Uchenna Okocha (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/University School) was named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.

Okocha averaged 14.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists while leading the Presidents (8-17, 4-12) to a pair of wins last week.

He poured in a career-high 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting during W&J’s 89-73 victory over Geneva on Senior Day last Wednesday.  Okocha netted nine points to key a late first-half run, helping the Presidents open up a double-digit lead. He also added five rebounds and five assists.

In the season finale at Waynesburg, Okocha continued his hot play with 11 points and eight rebounds. He knocked down 4-of-9 field goals and 3-of-4 free throws during 37 minutes of action.

Okocha averages 6.1 points and 4.3 assists this winter.  He is the only President to have started all 25 games.  Okocha has 202 points and 130 rebounds in 56 career games.

The 7th-seeded Presidents travel to No. 2 seed Thiel on Tuesday for a Presidents’ Athletic Conference Championship Tournament quarterfinal matchup.
