Water Polo Win Streak Raised To Six
PASADENA, Calif. -- Junior Carl Krause (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) scored four goals to help Washington & Jefferson College extend its men's water polo win streak to six matches following an 18-12 victory at Caltech Thursday night.
The Presidents (8-6) were victorious on their first match of a six-match west coast trip. The teams were knotted 2-2 after the first quarter, but W&J grabbed a 7-5 lead over the Beavers (1-4) at the break. Washington & Jefferson scored six times during the third period and hung on for the victory.
During the Presidents' six-game win streak, W&J has averaged 18.2 goals per match.
Junior Mike Magdic (Franklin Park, Pa./North Allegheny) and Nick Willison (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) both posted three goals, while sophomore Kevin Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) supplied a pair of goals.
Junior Conor Crowe (King of Prussia, Pa./Upper Merion), sophomore Drew Hugenberg (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) and freshmen Josh Apple (Pennridge, Pa./Pennridge), Emmet Pierson (Malibu, Calif./Malibu) and Jon Spehar (Pennridge, Pa./Pennridge) all added one.
W&J plays twice on Friday in California at the Gary Troyer Tournament, starting with a 2:20 pm match with top-ranked Redlands.
