Westminster Hands W&J 3-0 PAC Setback

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Freshman middle hitter Lindsey Bennett’s (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) had a team-high eight kills, but Washington & Jefferson suffered a 3-0 Presidents’ Athletic Conference volleyball loss (25-16, 25-16, 25-15) to Westminster on Tuesday evening at the Henry Memorial Center.
W&J is 7-15 overall (2-10 PAC) and has dropped four consecutive matches, while Westminster improved to 14-9 overall and 6-5 in the PAC. The Lady Titans sweep the season series from the Presidents and claimed their fifth-straight win in the series.
Sophomore outside hitter Madison Rotto (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) added six kills for W&J, while classmate Samantha Chorney (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) pitched in five kills and five digs.
Freshman setter Megan Stoehr (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) posted 23 assists, six digs and two kills, while freshman defensive specialist Sarah Stedina (Darlington, Pa./Blackhawk) notched a team-high eight digs.
Washington & Jefferson hopes to get back into the win column on Thursday in Beaver Falls at Geneva (7:00 pm).
