W&J and Geneva Play To Scoreless Tie In PAC Opener
WASHINGTON, Pa. - Washington & Jefferson and Geneva played to a 0-0 PAC men’s soccer tie on Saturday at Alexandre Stadium in the conference opener for both teams.
The Presidents (2-4-2, 0-0-1 PAC), who snapped a three-match losing streak to Geneva (4-4-2, 0-0-1 PAC), led in shots 10-7 and had two of the three chances in the extra sessions. W&J also attempted eight of the match’s 14 corner kicks.
Geneva goalie Bryan Butler stopped six shots, while W&J sophomore goalkeeper Jon Best (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) notched three saves.
W&J continues PAC play on Wednesday at Westminster (4:00 pm).
