W&J And Thomas More Play To Scoreless Draw

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College women’s soccer team earned a 0-0 PAC draw with Thomas More in a defensive struggle at Alexandre Stadium on Wednesday night.
Senior goalkeeper Stephanie Saussol (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) made multiple key saves for the Presidents (13-3-1, 7-0-1) in regulation and overtime. Saussol stopped a breakaway attempt by Kelsea Arvin and then made another diving save on a rebound attempt in the 65th minute. She also halted a point-blank try from Kirstie Reilman in the first overtime. In all, Saussol stopped season-high 10 shots.
Saints' (9-4-1, 6-1-1) goalkeeper Katie Burger was just as stellar, as she made saves on all four Presidents’ shots she faced.
Sophomore forward Holly Shipley (Scottdale, Pa./Southmoreland) paced W&J with two shots on goal.
The Presidents have a chance to clinch the Presidents’ Athletic Conference regular-season title and the PAC tournament’s top seed with a win or a draw at Bethany on Saturday (12:00 pm).
