W&J Drops Match To Bethany In West Virginia

BETHANY, W. Va. -- Bethany defeated Washington & Jefferson College 3-0 in Presidents' Athletic Conference volleyball action from Hummel Field House in West Virginia on Thursday night.

W&J fell to 5-3 overall and 1-2 in PAC play, while the Bison upped their record to 8-3 and 1-0 in the league. Set scores for the match were 25-27, 15-25, 20-25.

Junior Tori Clark (Fall Branch, Tenn./Sullivan South) led the Presidents with 13 kills.  She also added six digs and one block.  Freshman Nicole Bishwaty (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and sophomore Lindsey Bennett (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) both tallied seven kills.

Sophomore Megan Stoehr (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) dished out 25 assists and produced a pair of service aces.

Defensively, Bishwaty led the way with 10 digs. Freshman Courtney Grdina (Stow, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) accumulated nine digs, while junior middle hitter Lindsey Coffey (Brownsville, Pa./Beth-Center) contributed a pair of blocks.

W&J continues its road trip on Saturday when it travels to Crestview Hills, Ky., for a tri-meet with PAC-foe Thomas More and non-league opponent Franklin.
