W&J Places Second At Home Women's Golf Invite

CANONSBURG, Pa. -- Grove City College notched a four-woman score of 406 to win the Washington & Jefferson College Spring Women's Golf Invitational at Southpointe Golf Club on Monday.  The Wolverines defeated the Presidents by 15 strokes to win the tournament on the par 72 course. 

Westminster's Pam Bonneau earned medalist honors in the 23-golfer field after carding 90 strokes.  She was five shots clear of W&J freshman Jennifer Suder (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley), who tied for second place. 

Point Park took third in the tournament with 445 shots, while Westminster was fourth with 458.  Individuals competed in the tournament from Waynesburg and Columbus State. 

Senior Tara Fatula (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) tied for sixth place following a round of 102, while sophomore Katelynn Vannoy (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) tied for eighth place with 104 strokes.  Junior Ellen Schmitt (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) placed 16th with 120 shots.
