W&J Races Past Chatham

Washington, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College women’s swimming and diving team improved its record to 2-0 after winning all 13 events Wednesday evening during a 118-66 PAC victory over Chatham at the Henry Memorial Natatorium.
The Presidents had five different swimmers who grabbed a pair of victories, led by freshman Jessica Sweitzer (Laurel, Md./Seton Keough). She claimed the 200 freestyle (2:00.11) and also led off the 200 freestyle relay which posted a time of 1:45.93.
Juniors Kaitlin Dagg (Mentor, Ohio/Hawken) and Jami Andrews (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) joined senior Hanna Carroll (Del Rio, Texas/Vanden) and freshman Charlotte Lima (Brooklyn, N.Y./Choate Rosemary Hall) on the winning 200 medley relay to open the meet (1:58.09).
Dagg also swam on the 200 freestyle relay win, while Andrews captured the 200 IM (2:20.30). Lima also was victorious in the 50 freestyle (25.76).
Freshman Madison Pettica (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) rounded out the double winners, touching first in the 100 butterfly (1:03.89) and swimming the second leg of the 200 freestyle relay.
Washington & Jefferson returns to the pool on Saturday in Berea, Ohio, for a dual meet with Baldwin-Wallace at 1:00 pm.
