W&J Volleyball Edges Chatham In Three Sets
WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College volleyball team defeated Chatham for the 25th-straight time Tuesday night by a score of 3-0 (25-11, 25-22, 26-24) at the Henry Memorial Center.
W&J (10-11, 4-10 PAC) is now 31-2 all-time against Chatham (0-25, 0-15 PAC) and has not lost to the Cougars since 1981.
Junior Samantha Chorney (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) collected eight kills to lead the Presidents’ offense. Classmate Tori Clark (Fall Branch, Tenn./Sullivan South) added seven, while sophomore Lindsey Bennett (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) and freshman Nicole Bishwaty (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) both totaled five.
Sophomore Megan Stoehr (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) handed out 17 assists and tied Bishwaty for the team lead by contributing six digs. Junior Madison Rotto (Freeport, Pa./Freeport) added eight assists, five digs and a team-best three blocks.
W&J visits Greenville on Thursday to battle Thiel at 7:00 pm.
